| South
Westcliff Community Group |
| The
South Westcliff Community Group is an organisation of
around 150 people who meet every other month to take action
to make the South Westcliff area a safer and better place
to live in. "We
want to build back Community into our area.Due
to getting together every 2 months, |
 |
a great many people, from neighbouring streets, who did
not previously know each other, now stop and talk and
socialise, instead of passing by as strangers. This recognition
of area neighbours is gradually building a stronger bond
and confidence between us all. The community is slowly
building, against the social norm of isolation."
Some of the Group's initiatives relate to Rubbish Watch,
crime prevention and security, the Westcliff Seaboard,
tree-planting, traffic calming etc.
