Mapping
on to the West Leigh ward, the West Leigh Residents
Association has approximately 200 members. It holds
quarterly Open Meetings (non-members are welcomed) at
which invited speakers talk on "hot" topics
of the day or on other matters of local interest. The
committee is particularly involved with discussions
with the Council on planning, licencing, parking etc
issues.

group has been set up with the sole purpose of galvanising
the local community behind its campaign to save St Clement's
Hall. The group
is working towards a proposed Friends of St Clements
Hall which would take over the running of the hall for
the benefit of all the community, St Clements church

group was formed to co-ordinate the effortss of individuals
and groups who are against development on the seaward
side of the seashore. The most recent threat is the
proposed MGM supercasino, conferrence centre and blocks
of flats proposed for Westcliff. If you are also worried
